Scott Schlicht has been specializing in pond design and construction since 2006 throughout the whole state of MI. Schlicht Ponds devotes all their knowledge and energy into pond construction only. We don’t do septic fields, dig basements, concrete work, we dig ponds and only ponds. That is one thing that separates us from the other guys. We have the equipment and knowledge to get your pond project done efficiently and in a timely manor.
A great solution to depleting algae levels is having a fountain and or an aerator running for your pond. This helps to agitate the water and keeps it from becoming stagnant.
Servicing your pond every 15-20 years, will reduce the buildup of leaves, muck, algae, emergents vegetation and fragmities (weeds). When our team arrives to service, we will pump down the pond to a couple feet of water (as much as possible) then, we begin excavating the settlement and scrape all unwanted debris and plants out.
Yes, adding fish to your pond will assist by eating algae and any bacteria growing in your pond. Fish also feed on various insects, keeping them away from your pond and helping to maintain the balance of your pond is an added bonus.
Having a pond fountain provides visual appeal and tranquility to your pond. Many customers install a pond fountain to help keep their pond clean and healthy by helping aerate the pond. This keeps algae down, keeps water circulating, helps aquatic life all together.
All depends on your township ordinance, as some townships do not have a town ordinance. Contact your local township office for questions.
